Since the re-election of Obama, a lot of businesses have closed shop or have slimmed down. Here is a list of recent company layoffs and shutdowns since November 6th's results.
In Las Vegas, a business owner with 114 employees fired 22 workers today because 'Obama was elected and his policies are crushing small business.'
A Utah coal company has laid off 102 miners because of Obama's policies. Obama said in 2008, "So, if somebody wants to build a coal plant, they can - it's just that it will bankrupt them, because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted." And since then, his people have complained that he is doing so and more coal working Americans are out of work than ever before.
Energizer, a St. Louis company, announced yesterday that they plan to cut 1,500 employees
Welch Allyn, a company that manufactures medical diagnostic equipment in central New York, announced in September that they would be laying off 275 employees, or roughly 10% of their workforce over the next three years. They said the major reason was due to the Obamacare's new healthcare laws and mandates
Westinghouse announced the day after the elction that they are reducing their workforce by another 50 employees
Dana Holding Corp, who employees 25,500 worldwide, says because of Obamacare they will be laying off many people due to an additional $24 million cost increase in health care benefits over the next six years.
Research in Motion Limited - Makers of BlackBerry smartphones announced just this Wednesday they are laying off 200 people in Irving.
New York company Stryker, who employs 1,170, is laying off 96 jobs in December to combat the new medical device tax.
Boston Scientific is cutting anywhere between 1,200 to 1,400 due to proposed taxes in the health care reform bill. They also are preparing to shift investments and workers overseas to China because of the costs.
Lighyyear Network Solutions - One dozen employees at the Pikeville company lost jobs this week.
Boeing Co - plans to employ less than 30 percent than usual at it's Boeing Defense, Space & Security unit by the end of 2012
Medtronic cut 500 positions over the summer and are going to be cutting 500 more by the end of 2013 due to Obamacare taxes.
Providence Journal Co. has laid off 23 full time workers on Wednesday.
